Plenty of Patio Seating with Outdoor Benches

Outdoor benches should always be considered and will go with whatever style patio you have. There are many styles and designs of benches available made from a variety of materials. Outdoor benches can be manufactured out of wood, concrete, metal or resin to fit the homeowners taste.

Some outdoor benches are manufactured using both wood and iron which looks great together with any patio decorating. They are not quite as easy on the tush as a cushioned patio chair but they will add that needed seating space when more guests arrive. Before spending money on any type of patio furniture of outdoor benches, you should sit on them in the showroom to see if they will be comfortable. Wicker and resin benches cost quite a bit less than some other materials but can look great and offer great comfort.

Many decorators will use several outdoor wood benches to form a faux wall around a patio while providing seating for several persons. A bench not only provides extra seating it can also be a barrier to a child on the patio or show off a prize potted azalea. No matter what your patio furniture is constructed of it will need to be covered or coated with a weather resistant material.

Consider Concrete, Wood or Resin

Yes, concrete oudoor benches are very durable, but they can be very cold and rigid or become very hot when placed in direct sun. Concrete cannot be easily moved in and out during the cold winters and therefore could begin to wear, but not until after many years.

Some outdoor wood benches have been created to conform to a person’s body shape such as in the adirondack style. From time to time a fresh coat of clear stain to protect it from harsh weather should be done to keep it looking like new. They can be disassembled and repaired if needed, including repainting the metal sides and feet.

Resin outdoor benches today can be made to have the color and look of wood, rattan, or even concrete. Resin patio furniture is lightweight but can be tipped over easily and can lose its color or become rigid and easily break. Additionally, if they are left in extremely hot sun they can be warped by using them as a bench.
