Plenty of Patio Seating with Outdoor Benches

Outdoor deck benches will go with almost any patio design and are necessary for creating that additional seating most are certain to need.

Benches can be found that have been created to fit into almost any style home. Everything from poured concrete, all wood, metal or in a combination is being used to make outdoor benches for every conceivable environment.

There are many inexpensive outdoor benches made of a combination of wrought iron and wood slats that make a nice impression when patio decorating. They are not quite as easy on the tush as a cushioned patio chair but they will add that needed seating space when more guests arrive. Even those made of all wood should be tried out before using them as outdoor benches or no one will want to stay in them very long. Benches constructed of wicker or resin are cheaper but can be just as satisfactory.

In thier patio idea design some designers build a wall around the patio area that can also be used as outdoor wood benches for additional seating. A bench can really have many uses such as creating a border around the patio or a place to display potted plants. Regardless of the materials used, all outdoor furniture requires some care and maintenance.

Durability, Looks or Comfort, the Choice is Yours

Concrete outdoor benches are a good choice for longevity purposes but they can be very heavy and also quite cold. Concrete may also begin to degrade after several freeze-thaw cycles and due to their weight will probably remain outdoors through every season.

Some outdoor benches built out of wood, are designed to accommodate the natural shape of the body and therefore provide maximum comfort. From time to time a fresh coat of clear stain to protect it from harsh weather should be done to keep it looking like new. They can be disassembled and repaired if needed, including repainting the metal sides and feet.

Outdoor benches made of resin can now be found in many color choices and styles. Resin patio furniture is lightweight but can be tipped over easily and can lose its color or become rigid and easily break. Additionally, if they are left in extremely hot sun they can be warped by using them as a bench.
